Patrick is the Acting Director of the Financial Institutions and Instruments Section in the Tax Legislation Division of the Department of Finance. As Acting Director, he is responsible for spearheading the drafting of income tax legislation and analyzing tax policy issues relating to insurance corporations and life insurance policies.

Patrick joined Finance in the summer of 2017, prior to which he articled as a clerk at the Tax Court of Canada.
