CALU is not a regulatory, licensing, or accrediting body.

Membership

Visit Join Now at calu.com to review the membership categories. Once you determine which membership category you qualify for, use the Apply Today link for that category to fill out an application. Once your application has been submitted you will receive an email listing the additional documents needed to complete your application. Documentation should be sent to calu@calu.com.

Completed applications are reviewed by the CALU Membership Committee and subsequently by our Board of Directors. The average application processing time is six weeks.

Please note that memberships are individual and not transferable. CALU does not offer corporate memberships.

Our application process is open year-round with fees pro-rated based the month you join CALU. Memberships renew annually on January first.

Membership fees differ by category. Fees by category are available here.

CALU offers the option of auto-renewal payments. Members can sign up for this method of payment at anytime, or update their credit card information already on file by clicking on My Account, selecting My Profile, then the Membership tab.

Volunteer engagement

CALU has Committees in various subject areas which members can participate in. All CALU members may apply to serve on those Committees for the program year which begins in May.

CALU also offers a Resource Group for members whose interests and skills lie in areas not covered by Committees, or who may not want to participate in them. Members may join or withdraw their interest to serve on the Resource Group at anytime.

Additional information on CALU’s Committee and the Resource Group is available here.

CALU’s Board is composed of 12 individuals including 11 Member positions and one Associate position.

Members are eligible to serve on the Board for one-year terms with a five-term limit. The Associate position has a two-term limit and is not eligible to serve as an Officer. Provisional Members are not eligible to serve on the Board.

A call for nominations is made to the membership annually to fill expected Board vacancies. A slate of nominees is subsequently presented to the membership for election at the Annual Meeting of Members which takes place in conjunction with the annual Conference & AGM.

CALU’s current Board of Directors is available here.
