Scott Beckett is an insurance specialist. 2024 will mark over 38 years in many unique and varied aspects of the insurance industry. As President of Edgewater Financial Group and a Partner at KEFSI, Scott has pioneered integrated planning, where successful Canadians integrate their personal insurance with their business insurance and employee benefit plans, for seamless, tax and cost efficient insurance coverage.

Scott holds an MBA (1997) from the Richard Ivey School of Business and a Bachelor of Science (1984) in Statistics and Actuarial Science from the University of Western Ontario.

Scott is a member of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU) and the Financial Advisors Association of Canada (Advocis). Committee work includes the CALU Living Benefits working group, the task force on Female Membership Growth, and the AGM, and the Advocis CLU Education Committee. Scott is an original board member of Beautiful World Canada, a charity funding, encouraging, and supporting education of young women in Africa. Since 2012, Scott has chaired fundraising events for March of Dimes Canada (MODC), most recently the new Changemakers’ Supper Club in 2022, 2023 and the upcoming event in the Fall of 2024. Scott has raised over $1.5M toward supporting MODC’s many programs. He is a frequent author and speaker about Life Insurance, Employee Benefits, Executive Benefits and Executive Compensation.

Scott is a founding partner in KEFSI. The firm operates across Canada. Scott holds insurance licenses in all ten provinces and all three territories. In 2008, Scott founded Edgewater Financial Group Inc., now part of KEFSI. In 2017, KEFSI purchased Duggan Benefits, an established firm providing benefit consulting services for over 35 years. Following the acquisition of Duggan Benefits, KEFSI now serves over one hundred employee benefit clients across Canada. In 2018, the firm launched The Founders’ Plan, an innovative, proprietary group insurance product for small business. In 2017, Scott and his partners founded BeniPlus Inc. The BeniPlus Wallet offers simple, flexible, and affordable benefits for small business using insurance technology. BeniPlus is an innovative addition to the global insuretech landscape.
