2023 Conference & AGM

Session

Wednesday, May 10 @ 11:30 am – 12:30 pm ET

Implementing tomorrow’s dream today

Too often clients don’t take the time to truly dream about the legacy they want to leave their family and the world. They are busy with the operations of their businesses and their advisors are focused on helping design detailed (elaborate) tax and estate planning structures to ensure the financial side of their estate is safe and secure. During this session you will get a look behind the scenes at one founder’s legacy journey. Jim Burton sold his business 5 years ago and has been working ever since with his family to create and implement a shared dream. You will learn about the legacy building steps he and his family have taken with their team of advisors which has advanced them collectively as a family, helped the rising generation prepare for inherited wealth, and created a foundation (organization) that is having tremendous social impact in the communities in which they live and work. The objectives of this session include the following:

– Learn how to holistically deal with succession and estate planning
– Explore how legacy and client’s dreams are bigger than tax and estate planning
– Examine mechanisms for preparing children for wealth
– Understand the impact of multi-disciplinary teaming on continuity planning
