Working exclusively in tax planning, Angela is responsible for providing sophisticated estate planning services to shareholders of private and public companies and to other wealthy individuals and families. She advises on will and probate fee planning, tax planning for estates, charitable giving strategies, immigration and emigration planning, the use of domestic and offshore trusts and their taxation, buy-sell planning, estate freeze and capital gains exemption planning techniques, creative uses of insurance and distribution planning for corporations and trusts.
Angela has over 20 years of experience in providing high-end tax advice and planning to clients. Angela graduated with an LL.B. from the University of Toronto and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997. While no longer practicing law, she did practice for over 9 years as a tax lawyer in both an in-house counsel role and in a top-tier Toronto law firm. She is a member in good standing at the Law Society of Upper Canada, a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, Ontario Bar Association, Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

With 6+ years of expertise in financial underwriting for high-net-worth life insurance clients, she provides financial underwriting expertise to Sun Life underwriters and consults with advisors.
Annette has a strong track record of resolving complex financial underwriting challenges and fostering productive relationships with advisors and underwriters across the industry. Her 12-year career in insurance began as an Internal Auditor, later transitioning to Manager, Financial Underwriting Practice at Canada Life.
With extensive experience in accounting, auditing and corporate taxation, Annette has held roles such as CFO in the construction sector, public accountant at Ernst & Young, and corporate tax auditor with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Daren is a Partner in McInnes Cooper’s Halifax, NS office whose law practice is focused on tax, estate planning and corporate law. He provides a comprehensive range of tax services to corporations, trusts, non-profit organizations and high-net-worth individuals, focusing on tax planning for businesses and their owners. He advises on business mergers and acquisitions, domestic and cross-border tax planning, complex corporate structuring and reorganizations, and disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Daren received his Queen’s Counsel designation in 2011 (now known as King’s Counsel). He is a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner with a particular knowledge of trusts, estate planning, and business succession. Daren was the president of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in 2016-2017. Before serving a three-year term on the Society’s Executive, he was elected by his fellow lawyers three times as a member of the Society’s Governing Council. He previously chaired the Society’s Governance and Nominating Committee, Finance Committee, Limited Liability Partnerships Committee, and its Incorporation of Law Firms Committee, in addition to serving on various other committees.

Dominik Briault, FSA, FCIA, FEA, is Vice-President, Actuarial Services and joined Feigelsohn Kellar in January 2017. Feigelsohn Kellar is a Toronto-based transition-planning firm.
